If you’re looking for some fun downhill-style riding, Jelly Roll, Lumpy Pants, Who’s Your Daddy and Night Shift will give you what you’re looking for.
To get to these trails, you’ll spend the first 15 minutes or so earning your downhill as you climb up the Regional Trail until you get to Old Payoff. At that point, it’s just another 500 metres to get to the start of Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll and Lumpy Pants feature a challenging set of drops and jumps, so take your time to scout each obstacle before you go plunging off them.
Who’s Your Daddy & Night Shift have evolved into a challenging but well groomed downhill run with a lot of fun features.
Protective gear is recommended for this route. While you’ll see some locals in half shells and no armour, you’ll ideally wear a full face helmet as well as knee/shin and elbow/forearm armour
BTW, not included in this particular route is Torpedo Run. Heading up and doing a few laps of Torpedo is always a good time For a different variation of this route you might even consider doing a couple of warmup laps on Torpedo at the start of your ride. Torpedo is great as it’s considered an advanced trail if you hit the jumps, but is ridable for less confident jumpers if you simply roll over the tabletops instead of jumping.
Take note that there is a walk up for Torpedo that’s the quickest way to get to the top. Grab yourself a Hartland Trail map at any local bike shop and you’ll be ready for action.
