Selkirk Trestle - Galloping Goose

While a warm, water resistant jacket is a great companion for Victoria winter riding, most days are enjoyably rideable!

Below is the view over the Selkirk Trestle (on the Galloping Goose Trail) on a slightly wet day on December 15th:

Torpedo at HartlandWhile local mountain bikers are not averse to a little rain, Hartland Mountain Bike Park is open year round and even in the winter you can get clear, dry days like the one pictured here on December 31st.

The view shown is from the top of Torpedo after a fun loop around Twister and Old Payoff. Twister is an absolutely fantastic “tune up” loop for intermediate riders. It’s ¬†a trail you need to pay attention on, but it’s possible to stay on your pedals through ¬†virtually all the obstacles, even in wet and slippery weather.
